Fight #0007: Future Boy - Brown Boxes (Rapid Eye Nightmare Mix) Not the remix I had in mind when I started. I had a few problems with the mix that I had to remedy which led to some compromises in the overall production. Initially I was sad that I couldn’t produce a better remix, but this one has grown on me, so perhaps it wasn’t so bad afterall. I suppose I’d label this one dark ambient vocal IDM drum n bass. Yeah…
Fight #0009: Jute Gyte - Driving (The F*cking Cliff Mix) So I decided to be really lazy and disregard all the odd time signatures and metre changes in the original and did a blatantly generic 4/4 remix. I spiced it up with some distorted beats and some unoriginal layering of the guitars. The surprise for me was the ending, which is somewhat unlike my typical style. Sure it has the run-of-the-mill John Ingram “repeat the chorus ad nauseam” outro, but instead of building exponentially on the pre-existing chorus material, it actually tones down. Hey… I think I just rambled. Enjoy.
Fight #0011: Brad Sucks - Bad Attraction (In The Garage Mix) What if Brad Sucks was a four piece garage band from the early 80’s? What if Brad Sucks was a BAD four piece garage band from the early 80’s? What if Bad Attraction was an amateur 4-track demo, recorded in 1981, by a bad four piece garage band…
Fight #0014: DeRon - When I Want Romance (Power Is Fleeting Mix) stylistically its nothing new from me. lots of layered percussion and droning background ambience with building synth orchestrations and a bit of piano noodling.
Fight #0015: Donkey T - Sleepless (Unfinished Mix) ran out of time on this one and never finished, but felt that the unfinished product might still garner a few appreciative nods. if not, then sod off.
Fight #0068: Lux Divon - Doctor P ( With Apologies Mix) It’s been a while since the last time I did this… The full title of the mix is “With Apologies To The Saxophone Player, For The Obvious Reasons”. After completely excising the sax from the mix, I went back and had another listen. That’s when I determined that the sax sounded great solo and decided to lead off the whole mix with a sax solo intro that is more than a little reminiscent of the ’80s.
