This remix was created using guidance from Brian Eno and Peter Schwalm’s “Oblique Strategies” cards. Every so often during the process I drew a random card from the deck that suggested the direction the remix should take. I used 5 cards in total.

Hadn’t contributed to RemixFight! in a while and then I saw a familiar artist in the spotlight (Future Boy). Since, the bpm was just in my area a bit, I thought I give it a dose of my stuff. Didn’t have time to completely get the sound levels right, since I absolutely waited until the last minute to work on it. Enjoy!

Not the remix I had in mind when I started. I had a few problems with the mix that I had to remedy which led to some compromises in the overall production. Initially I was sad that I couldn’t produce a better remix, but this one has grown on me, so perhaps it wasn’t so bad afterall. I suppose I’d label this one dark ambient vocal IDM drum n bass. Yeah…

I made this at the beach.

This version uses the vocals and bassline and redirects the song into a gritty, almost urban, deviation. Enjoy…

I added a bit of harmony vox but other than that, all loops are from the Kid! Except the main drum track, which i looped out of Reason. I guessed on the bpm.

I stuck with the Future Boy loopset on this one. All the wacked synthlike sounds were created using pieces of the vocals.
