Heuristics Inc. - A bit of a speed remix, done in Audiomulch, that sounds nothing like the original.

Fight #0033: Chris Burleson - My Margarita - I thought to myself, “What better way to pay tribute to a very talented musician than to transform his song into an amorphous blob.”

MC Jack in The Box - Imagine yourself lying in bed after drinking too much tequila. You put your foot down on the floor to make it stop but it doesn’t. You know what’s going to happen next….

Rinkydink - I wanted to keep close to the original this time, so used a lot of the original tracks, added a few wee bits here and there and put the vocals through an amp simulator to roughen it up a bit

ztutz - Lyrics? Who needs ‘em! I borrowed the excellent modal riffs for new bazouki and clarinet parts, keeping the orginal guitars and piano. Reinterpreted the bongos and drums. Result? Maybe new flamenco versus Greek klezmer…

Heuristics Inc. - I dreamified and extended the song a bit, and added some extra space to be able to build up a bit more of a feeling of climax in it. I also added some extra percussion from Bill Laswell and convolutions from Spirit Canyon Audio.

Fight #0032: The Idiot Kings - Third String - The vocals wanted accompaniment, and I denied them the pleasure, instead leaving the listener to listen for that which wasn’t there instead. They are suffocating in their own isolation.

Rinkydink - after all the barkin about verses and choruses i was too afraid not to use the verse this time, turns out its better than the chorus anyway, but i used both…..i fired loads of effects at this but only a few stuck then i strangled the life outta it a few different times with T-racks 24, threw it all out and dragged this mix outta the gutter

DJ Snyder - I didn’t do a whole lot of original work on this one, most of it went into the percussion section. I did a lot of FX and re-weighing the tracks in the mix. Enjoy.

MC Jack in The Box - I created a mashup using the Idiot King’s “Third String” and The Beastie Boys acapella vocal track for “Rhyme the Rhyme”. I did the drums, all other music by The Idiot Kings.

Fight #0032: The Idiot Kings - Third String - This is my first submission for remix fight and is a ambient industrial mix (at least that’s how i’d describe it). I only used the source material as the basis for my re(de)constuction which was aided by too much ice cream! Hope you like it
