Heuristics Inc. - Not too much to say about this one.
The Taco Conspiracy - Everything in this track is an element from the original. The beat sounds really cut up, but it’s actually just a few tracks of the original beat layered over each other with a slight delay. Both the original and my remix sounded very sci-fi, hence the title. You’ll probably be seeing more “taco” puns in my future remix titles than you’ll be able to stand.
Fight #0020: Lanark - El efecto ovni - This remix is about 33% creepier than I intended. Hope you enjoy my first Remixfight offering!
MC Jack in The Box - I used all the loops in the set and augmented them with some drums from Reason and some keyboard tracks I created on my Kawaii K1. I was going for sort of a Cure feel to the mix. I chose a riff and ran with it you might say.
Nate MC - Don’t blame me if I butchered the langauge wrong for the name. It’s been awhile since I’ve remixed an instrumental track but I was pleasantly surprised with what I came up with. This one blurs the line of trip hop/dub/and hip hop breaks.
UnDesirable - We seem to get alot of minor key songs to remix around here, so I decided to change this to a major key and make it a happy mix. I stayed within the loopset and even though I didn’t read the revisions I feel it is safe to say my remix fell within the parameters of the license.
Fight #0020: Lanark - El efecto ovni - The Funny Thing About Life Is You Can’t Live Without It
Colvig - i know the GWBush fight was months ago, but Lanark’s song really made me think of putting W’s voice on top of it. so now, most of the original loopset plus a rolling marching band drum plus the “Mission Accomplished” speech = this mix.
Heuristics Inc. - I wanted to use a lighter touch on this remix, because the source song is so pretty. However, I did include a terrible pun to make up for it.
D. Howse - I was really satisfied with my other remix but wanted to take a crack at it again because i loved the vocals so much. Doubled the bpm and came out with this techno fusion with a little DnB. it’s a good mix, but i didn’t expend as much effort as I did the other remix.
D. Howse - I really liked this one, so i tried to really capture a intimate club scene not your typical rave outlet. Sped up the bpm about 13bpm so a lot of little editing with the vox was in order. But i really liked the final product, good song to listen to when you’re in bed with a/your woman (if you know what i mean).
Rinkydink - Was havin terrible troubles findin a direction for a remix of this song……..until i started choppin up the vocals, got the ‘dododo’ bit and took it from there :D
Daddy James - I don’t speak French, so I have no idea of how badly I’ve mangled the lyrics. If anyone can translate the bits I’ve included here, I’d appreciate it.
Daddy James - Slow trip-hop beat. Again, when my cold is over, I’ll try to mix this properly. I spent more time trying to mix this down than I did recording it.
Daddy James - Die hard South Beach dance mix. I have a cold and I can’t hear, so I don’t think the level/eq is up to par… I’ll fix when I get better.
Fight #0019: Cheryl Sim - Encore -
Artemis Strong - this was started over two latenight sleepy sessions, finished half awake sunday morning. hope you like it!
UnDesirable - I want to get in this fight, so I kept it simple and made the loops into a two chord reggae thing. I stayed within the loopset and used alot of delays.
Fight #0019: Cheryl Sim - Encore - This turned out pretty trippy and IDM-ish. It’s my first time here, be gentle.
fourstones - I meant to do that. Yes, really.
Fight #0019: Cheryl Sim - Encore - my first remixfight track, break/jungle style, Cheryl is a great artist to remix. I enjoy this one immensly and I hope everyone else does to.
Fight #0019: Cheryl Sim - Encore - smooth and creamy like a milkshake martini, lay back and enjoy the ride.
Fight #0019: Cheryl Sim - Encore - I tried to stick with just the orgional elements and give it a laid back feel.
Fantastic Vamps - Mock-turntablism.
Fight #0019: Cheryl Sim - Encore - thought that whoever was gone would eventually come home
