Rinkydink - i took it back to its roots!
DJ Redshirt - If anything this deserves the “most different from original” award. All vocals are from the chainsaw loops, even that humming thing at :52. So i sped the vocals up a tad, and all of the sudden i had this beautiful female voice (weird huh), so i centered my track around that. I made the vocals seem like they are saying “I, Love It”. i used one other sample at 2:04, and its the pick guitar thing, but i sliced and diced it so it is kind of different. The main hook is an old piano track i had written back in my youth and it fit…so there you have it.
D. Howse - This was the quickest remix I had ever done.. I had only learned about this fight on the 27th.. The vocals were really hard to work with, so you might notice a bunch of time glitches.. Not bad for a two-day mix.
Future Boy - obscurity is always complaining about the lack of “proper” remixes on here, so I’ve made one that’s probably as close to a “proper” remix as I will ever get.
Fight #0018: obscurity feat. jb - Chainsaw - Those stairs he got tossed down in Georgetown near the Key bridge, I’ve hiked them!
Heuristics Inc. - This remix uses all four vocal takes. The first sound you hear is a crazily-effected version of one of the drum loops.
Fight #0018: obscurity feat. jb - Chainsaw - “schizophrenic!”. indeed. thats what ADD does to you.
Fight #0018: obscurity feat. jb - Chainsaw - This is more like a totally different song that happens to share some sounds with the great obscurity track.
MC Jack in The Box - For some reason, I kept thinking of “eyes wide shut” during this.
Artemis Strong - Worked all day and into early morning tweaking things on it. Not much to say except that it’s a Valentine’s Day gift and that she really liked it.
DJ Redshirt -
Heuristics Inc. - I improvised this ambient remix using Audiomulch. This was the 3rd take.
Future Boy - I let the track breathe a little.
MC Jack in The Box - In addition to the provided loopset, I used loops from “Tour De Mixter” by fourstones, “Wadidyusay?” by Zap Mama, “Oslodum 2004″ by DJ Dolores, and “DC3000″ by Thievery Corporation. All available from CCmixter.org.
Fight #0017: DJ Redshirt - Piano Keys - I channeled the madness of Topol after polishing off a bottle of Merlot.
Bill Berry -
