UnDesirable - About 15 years ago I bought an adult beginners piano book and this mix is based on the first lesson, which is as far as I got. I figured I learned all I needed to know.
Prank Monkey - Less Prankin’, More Spankin’.
Fight #0011: Brad Sucks - Bad Attraction - If Brad sucks, then I hope this remix sucks too.
John Ingram - What if Brad Sucks was a four piece garage band from the early 80’s? What if Brad Sucks was a BAD four piece garage band from the early 80’s? What if Bad Attraction was an amateur 4-track demo, recorded in 1981, by a bad four piece garage band…
Heuristics Inc. - I did two previous remixes for Brad, and they were both abstract, weird things, so this time I wanted to do something a little more structured. All sounds are processed versions of loops from the set, even the ones that sound like synths.
Future Boy - Island Fever mixed with some Booty Call.
DJ Redshirt - Sped this thing up a great deal, gave it some killer bass, and tweaked the voices… enjoy
Fight #0011: Brad Sucks - Bad Attraction - I tried to break this out a bit by offsetting the guitar lines at the beginning and the end, and keeping focus on the song’s hard edges. Making Brad’s tunes any more badass then they already are is a righteous challenge, but I gave it my best shot.
Fight #0011: Brad Sucks - Bad Attraction - what i did for this mix was take the drums out almost entirely, re-filter some of the guitars through extra distortion, re-use the first verse 2 times and make most of the backing tracks out of just the guitar loops and the vocals. there was this little “warmup” sound he included that sounded great looped and i went with that. lot of fun to make this one, kicked it out in about 2 hours. the sample at the beginning is from some random ilovebees.com WAV file. also : pitch bend is your friend.
Fight #0011: Brad Sucks - Bad Attraction - Hey, I figured I’d take the advice I got on the forums and just jump right in. I had a day off today, noticed fight 11 featured a song by the friendliest man on the internet, and so decided to mutilate it. It’s pretty bizarre and most likely not very appealing and obviously done by a newbie, but that is why I’m entering. I figure the feedback you guys can give will be of much help.
Heuristics Inc. - I sequenced the vocal samples using AudioMulch’s Drums contraption, and added in a couple of normal drum sounds. For some reason they were all playing much too fast. So I slowed the whole mix down to 50% speed and it sounded better. Later on I added a bassline and a synth part with the Virus.
Fight #0010: George W. Bush - All sounds in this piece are derived from one 2-minute long segment of a speech about Welfare and Affirmative Action delivered in January, 2003.
Fantastic Vamps - Place the wire inside her then remove the pox of Eden.
Fight #0009: Jute Gyte - Driving - I wanted to use some particularly silly music to contrast with the serious, aggressive nature of the vocals. I kept the whole thing short because it’s pretty gimmicky.
John Ingram - So I decided to be really lazy and disregard all the odd time signatures and metre changes in the original and did a blatantly generic 4/4 remix. I spiced it up with some distorted beats and some unoriginal layering of the guitars. The surprise for me was the ending, which is somewhat unlike my typical style. Sure it has the run-of-the-mill John Ingram “repeat the chorus ad nauseam” outro, but instead of building exponentially on the pre-existing chorus material, it actually tones down. Hey… I think I just rambled. Enjoy.
D. Howse - This one happen to be my first attempt at freestyle drum n’ bass. Actually like this one very much. Though it could use a lot more tweaking on the EQ, but man, too lazy… worked too long on this one to enjoy it much anymore. Although, I am rather pleased with it.
The Hip Cola - I sold my soul to the Sandman to get this done.
Heuristics Inc. - This remix was done mostly in Audiomulch. At first listen my test subject nearly vomited, so I tamed the mix a bit in the mastering stages. Hopefully nobody becomes carsick from this remix.
Future Boy - A simulation of what it might be like to listen to Jute Gyte while taking LSD.
Fight #0009: Jute Gyte - Driving - Sped this track up a little, and gave it a punk style beat that is actually very electro. Used the vocals more as samples, and only used a few parts of them. Took a couple risks here using slow melodies to counter the extremly rough riff. Enjoy!
